A Fun Visit!

My parents decided to make a trip up to Idaho to see their long lost daughter! Dad hadn't been to Idaho since they brought up wedding presents over 2 years ago! They arrived on dad's birthday so we had "Moon Pie Cake" which if you're wondering what that is, it's my disasterous cake turned into something creative! Sadly, Mom had shingles still, and there's not much to do in Rexburg when it's cold so we didn't do much, a lot of laying around and talking. Mom wanted to eat on my china, which is so beautiful, and so we had dad's birthday dinner on it. We had honey lime chicken enchiladas, so good! And mom had me bring out my china so she could give me holders to keep my china in! It was well worth pulling the china out of the boxes! On Sunday we went to church, came home and relaxed. I made Sho yu chicken in my big electric skillet, (which i haven't opened since getting from my wedding) I love it!
Brad and I won Sorry Sliders at this years Pharmacy Christmas Party, It's pretty fun and so we knew mom would like it. There are a few different game boards so we tried all 4 of them. We also had awesome weather on Monday, the car said 68!! Mom and Dad must have brought the sunshine with them!

The day they were suppose to leave look what we woke up too!!!! Proof that I'm not lying when I say we have snow in the middle of April. Luckily, Rexburg is special and when mom and dad left they said when they got to Rigby there wasn't very much snow. (Rigby is 15 miles away, crazy huh?) It was such a fun weekend, and I'm glad that they came up to see Brad and I, we love visiters!

Super Bowl

Ok, so I know this is like 2 weeks old, but at least it's being posted! Brad and I had our 2nd Annual Super Bowl Party with a few friends. It was so much fun, obviously our team lost but whatever we had a lot of fun and food! Brad and I got matching jerseys last summer and wore them whenever we watched the Colts! We love Peyton!!! We had tons of food. I did a nacho bar that was a hit and so fun! I also did blue and gold sugar cookies in the shapes of stars! (Blue for the Colts, Gold for the Saints) Brett and Alyssa brought this yummy cherry cheesecake made out of cherry chip cake! So good. Jen and BJ brought yummy banana bread with maple frosting and apples with a really good dip we had tried the week before with them. Danny and Heather brought the best egg rolls!! So we really did have a ton of food.
We had plenty to drink and still have a ton left over but we still have Blazer games to watch with friends so it's come in handy!

This was Brad having too much fun with the camera when Danny and Heather arrived! See all that snow...Blah!

This is Brynlee who we absolutely love! She's BJ and Jens daughter, just turned 1 about a month ago! She's so funny, and leaves Brad and I cracking up! She was really good throughout the yelling, laughing, and all around loud noise. She also really loves Brad!

The One and Only....

The one and only thing I love about the winter is when the blinding fog rolls in and you wake up to everything being perfectly iced over. It's super cold but all the branches on trees are frosted and white. Coolest thing I've ever seen. Brad took some pictures for me while I was running out the door to work. These are all just from outside the house. This is the tree is across the sreet. This is the drain on the sides of our doors. Our neighbors is a lot bigger for some reason. I can't believe how big this icicle gets. This is my car itena. So crazy huh?

This is my tree on the front porch. It's dead, and I don't think I'll be able to revive it this summer! This is the only thing that puts a smile on my face during the winter, Can't wait for Summer!!!

2 Years Strong

It's our 2 year anniversary!!! I can't believe it. We got married February 9, 2008 at the Los Angeles Temple. It was a perfect day in the 70's. Minus Brad stepping on my dress and not being able to get into our hotel room, it was the perfect! ha (the dress was fine, just a scary noise!) We had almost all of our family there to help us celebrate. We love and support each other, we've been so blessed in so many ways.

Sometimes it's crazy to think that within these 2 years we can finish each others sentences and totally have ESP.

We always have fun together and are constantly making each other laugh. We both like to see the other one smile!

Even though this picture is dark, it's one of my favorites, not the look, but maybe one of my favorite moments with Brad. Walking around Balboa Island on our Honeymoon, so sweet.
I love Brad and the life we have together, I can't wait for all the years to come!

Does food posioning count as a weight loss plan?

Monday while I was at work, about 5 pm to be exact, I wasn't feeling to go. So about 6:30pm I just couldn't do it anymore and decided to go home. After barely being able to get home safetly, I went straight up to bed and the symptoms only got worse. Brad came home at about 8 and took care of me. At about 1030ish, I was finally throwing up, and throwing up. After Brad got me and the entire bathroom cleaned up, he started getting the symptoms. So at about 1230ish Brad started his throwing up! I tried my best to take care of him, but I wasn't much help, but he was in a little more control. I have never seen myself so pale. Brad's palest was when he came back from the hospital about a year or so ago.
We spent all night up and in the bathroom, so I called in sick for Tuesday, and it was Brad's day off. Then, Wed. I gave it a go at work, and just about had it. After the longest 4 hours of my life I was able to go home, Brad called in sick. Brad's at work today, and it's my day off. Which he's doing ok, we went to Sam's Club for one thing and it nearly took all my energy for the day.

Well, after not eating anything and everything leaving my system. On Tuesday morning, Brad and I weighed ourselves. In that 12 hour period, I had lost 13 pounds, and Brad 9! How crazy is that, no wonder I'm still very weak. Anyways, Brad and I are slowly feeling better, thank goodness, because it's been the most inconvienient sickness ever. I missed a day and a half of work, Brad missed the same. So hopefully, all will be back to normal tomorrow!

why you don't mess around at work..

My sweet inocent town of Rexburg had one of its banks robbed about a week ago. The day it was robbed I was closing (shift 4:30-1AM) and I saw the road closed off, later to find out what had happened. But before my boss had left for the day she was like, "oh ya mel, make sure you don't keep too much money on top, just in case anything happens." Which totally freaked me out, I didn't want to deal with getting robbed. I mean, I know the drill, Don't Do Anything! Just give them what they want. So obviously nothing happened, who would rob a grocery store?! But later that week, the police station sent us pictures from the robbery of the guy and we have it stareing at us on the safe, so everytime I open it (which is like 100 times a night) I see this guy.
My friend Tony that I usually close with was in the booth with me (which is where I get all my work done, and where the safe is) and I'm joking with him that if the robber came to steal our money I would first start by throwing the pennies, nickles, dimes, ect. And then Tony said, "well what if he has a gun, you would need to give him real money." I said, "That's easy, I would just jump in the safe and I wouldn't get hit." So I tried to demonstrate, too bad the shelf in the safe was not attached like I thought it was, So I jump in and almost immediately start to fall and flung the shelf! Totally ate it, luckily the shelf didn't fall and no money fell out, only Tony laughing his head off! Here is the results, this was the first day, but day 2 and 3 it was really black and yellow. Lesson learned, don't jump in safes!

Seeing Results!

After being married for 2 years Brad and I have noticed some changes especially changes in our weight. So together Brad and I came to a number we would each like to lose, 120 pounds! As of this morning we have lost 15 pounds together!
So we're now down to 105 to lose!
Brad works out with a friend almost every morning at 5:45, and I work out about 3 to 4 days a week. We are watching what we eat, not eating so late, and finally starting to enjoy the results. We're really excited about finally having control of our weight and having fun working out together. We definately have a long way to go but we are constantly encouraging each other.
We still enjoy lives little treat but with a better sense of moderation. We hope we can keep up the good work, Go Team Curnow!
