November 2015

November was semi-eventful and kept us busy, between Thanksgiving, Brad covering basketball, and Wilson burning his hand!

Wilson has decided that when the mail comes it's his! He loves to look through all the ads and especially loves when Brad's NFL catalog comes! haha

Being such a big boy and starting to eat on his own, it makes me nervous but it's an exciting step to being more independent.

We got to celebrate Boop's 86th birthday as a family and it was so fun.  We made all of Boop's favorite foods and got him some fun gifts! Wilson loves Boop and is always so good to sit on his lap and talk to him.

Now that we have moved out of Boop's basement it's been fun to see him and catch up! Brad got to fill him in with his schooling and Boop was probably asking about meds! lol

Balloon from the party!

Wilson is changing so much and is becoming so independent! He loves his dad and wants to go where ever he goes!

Wilson loves to help me in the kitchen, he's not much help but he's pretty dang cute.

Looking so cute and ready to help mom cook in his apron!

Brad was covering the UVU vs BYU mens basketball game and since it was on tv Wilson and I got to watch and even see daddy on tv!! It was so fun and he had a blast!

We had our first "snow fall" and it was really Wilson's first time being around snow and being able to understand it.

We made Rice Krispies together and Wilson ate A LOT of them!

Just some cute pictures of a cute boy!

I think this was the month of treats!

Mom's in town!!! We went to a BYU football game and had a blast freezing and eating!

Selfie!!!

Wilson was helping me make Rice Krispie treats for Sunday dinner and some how touched the burner.  We thought it was going to be ok, but he was a little off so we took him to the ER.
They gave a toddler a bucket of water to soak his hand... Needless to say it turned into a splash bucket

Then it turned into a pool! I was soaked, Wilson was soaked, but at least he was happy and did ok while they looked at his hand.  The cold water helped with the pain and they sent a referral to the Burn Unit up in Salt Lake.

The next day I got a call from the Burn Unit which was great because overnight he got blisters on the palm of his hand and finger tips.
They got us in as soon as possible and they decided to open 3 of the big blisters and we had to keep his hand wrap for 10 days!

In the mean time we found out that we are having a baby girl!!  We had all the family vote on a gender and then did the same type of reveal we did with Wilson!

I was feeling brave and decided to tackle the Snowball Carmel recipe for my sister gift this year!  I have to say they turned out amazing and I was so grateful for all the help and advice family gave me!

The maintenance on Wilson's hand was a little intense.  For 10 days we bathed him and changed his wrapping at least once a day.  We only had to do it once a day but put gauze in front of toddler and it sometimes turned into twice a day!
First we had to clean it, then put ointment on the open wounds, then put a little bandage on the open opened wound, then wrap everything with gauze, then put netting over his 2 fingers and hand, THEN tie the finger netting to the hand netting! It was exhausting and the ONLY way we could get it all done was to turn on Mr. Peabody and Sherman and Brad would hold him and hold his hand the right way for me so I could "quickly" get it done!

We did do a lot of hanging out and we really did luck out, Wilson wasn't in a lot of pain, just tired a lot.  He used his hand still as you can see that he still loved to climb. Which the doctors said was the best thing for it!

We love this boy and making sure he's healthy and happy it really a full time job! I've been really grateful that Brad's schedule has allowed him to be home and help while we've been taking care of Wilson! And we can't wait to find out whether or not we have to leave his hand wrapped longer or not! Fingers crossed it's only for these 10 days!
